Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Instructor to join our faculty at Johnston Community College. As a Mathematics Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and a supportive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach mathematics courses to students at various skill levels
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
  • Maintain accurate attendance and scholastic records of students
  • Use course materials and technology to enhance student learning
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Meet with students and provide individualized support and guidance
  • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and incorporate best practices into teaching
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Mathematics or a related field
  • One year of teaching experience in a post-secondary setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two to three years of teaching experience in a community college setting
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics education and best practices
