Job Summary

The Senior Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service, utilizing and troubleshooting service implementation and equipment, and serves as a resource to the Surgical Technicians.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. To see the salary range for this position, we recommend that you make a note of the job code and use that to look up the information.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

Required Qualifications

  • One year experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in more than one surgical specialty
  • Graduate of Surgical Technologist Training program or equivalent experience
  • High School Diploma; or equivalent experience
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Neurosurgery cases, including Neurovascular (Open and Intraop angiography), Functional, Peripheral nerve, Spine, and Neurooncological specialties
  • Certification as a Surgical Technician

Department Description

The Moffitt Long Operating Room (OR) consists of 28 surgical suites. Our primary focus is tertiary/quaternary surgical care using team based staffing. Our complex surgery uses the most advanced technology, including hybrid suites and robotic surgery. Services include but are not limited to: General Surgery, Urology, Transplant, Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic, OHNS, OMFS, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery.
