As a key member of our healthcare team, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Coordinator plays a vital role in the delivery of comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation services.
Under general supervision, you will design, implement, and assess individualized exercise programs tailored for patients across all phases of cardiac rehabilitation and other chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct exercise therapy sessions for Phases I – III of cardiac rehabilitation, ensuring adherence to prescribed exercise regimens while accommodating the unique needs of each participant.
- Monitor vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, while evaluating patient symptoms during exercise sessions.
- Develop educational resources and provide essential information to both cardiac patients and those referred to the rehabilitation program.
- Engage in special patient initiatives, research projects, and professional development opportunities, contributing to programmatic advancements.
- Supervise cardiovascular stress testing for patients with varying health conditions to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
Identify patient educational needs, deliver insights on cardiac risk factors, and coach individuals towards optimal health outcomes. Maintain open communication with referring physicians regarding patient progress and rehabilitation activities.
Prepare documentation for medical review and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, CMS, and HIPAA.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience or successful completion of a 600-hour clinical internship in a cardiac rehabilitation environment may be required.
- ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist or AACVPR Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional certification is expected within one year of employment.
