Ironworker Specialist

The City of Pittsburgh seeks an experienced Ironworker Specialist to join our maintenance team. This position involves installing, replacing, and maintaining ironwork on city structures and bridges, utilizing expertise in electric and gas welding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on ironwork, identifying and addressing any issues or defects.
  • Conduct welds and repairs to structural ironworking tools and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems, leveraging technical knowledge and skills.
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless execution of projects, adhering to safety protocols and schedules.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting, leveraging technology to streamline processes.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Structural Iron Worker, accompanied by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid Certified Welder's License is required.
  • Ability to reside within the City of Pittsburgh during employment.
  • A current, valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License is mandatory.
