Revenue Optimization Specialist

The Revenue Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability for Palisades Tahoe's revenue-producing products. Reporting to the Senior Revenue Manager, this position is responsible for analyzing pricing strategies, metrics, and trends to identify opportunities and inform data-driven decisions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Revenue Analyst will develop and maintain reports using Power BI within the Alterra Unified Data Platform (UDP) to guide pricing and inventory changes.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze current and proposed pricing strategies, yield management techniques, and performance metrics to ensure revenue and profitability targets are met.
- Regularly update lodging yield information in the Revenue Management System and/or Property Management System, including rates, length of stay requirements, and room availability, based on guidance from the Senior Revenue Manager and property GM.
- Evaluate current reporting, develop new reports, and produce regular reports in a timely manner as defined by the Revenue Management, Hospitality, and core business departments. Understand the local and corporate database structure to retrieve appropriate data for analysis.
- Utilize productivity software (Excel), business intelligence applications (Microsoft Power BI), complex spreadsheets, and analytical tools to analyze trends, future needs, opportunities, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders to achieve brand/market objectives and initiatives.
- Complete special analyses, such as variance analysis, sensitivity analysis, performance measurement, booking trends, stay patterns, booking source, etc., and retrieve data from various database sources to perform such analyses.
- Research competitive offerings in lodging and ski-related products.
- Provide critical input for the development of overall strategy for multiple business units and communicate results, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with marketing, business operations, website operations, call center, hospitality, finance, and operations teams to make informed decisions through the use of analytics.
- Work closely with the Director of Finance, Lodging GM, and Senior Revenue Manager to develop, implement, and analyze pricing, inventory, and sales strategies for all market segments and distribution channels.
- Maintain appropriate pricing and packaging via various systems and work with other departments to prepare pricing worksheets, including rates, inventory, and restrictions for lodging and non-lodging related products.
- Foster a data-driven decision-making environment and share best Revenue Management practices with peers and other departments.
- Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management Concepts.
- Advanced Excel user (pivot, graphs, formulae, VBA).
- Strong database analysis skills with the ability to understand how data is organized in multiple systems and how to retrieve appropriate data from source systems.
- Proficient in developing data models and reports utilizing large data sets within Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and pro-active approach to reaching goals.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred.
- Exposure to SMS, Duetto, Inntopia, and Delphi.
