Custodial Care Team Leader

The Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs seeks a highly skilled and compassionate Custodial Care Team Leader to join our team.

This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents.

We are looking for an individual who can provide direct care, supervision, and security to adjudicated youth in our custody. This includes providing paraprofessional guidance and counseling, intervening in aggressive behaviors, documenting resident activities, and monitoring behavior.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing security and supervision to residents in various situations and activities
  • Performing routine duties in care, custody, education, and treatment of residents
  • Managing aggressive and non-aggressive behavior through verbal and physical intervention using prescribed techniques
  • Conducting counts of residents, enforcing institutional rules, and observing surveillance monitor screens

As a Custodial Care Team Leader, you will also be responsible for:

  • Providing paraprofessional counseling and instruction to residents
  • Directing daily activities, maintaining order, and supporting residents in achieving personal goals
  • Serving on treatment teams to review progress, treatment plans, and educational objectives

You must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (10 O.S. § 401 et seq.)
  • Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university, or one year of security experience, plus three years of security experience working with juveniles in a residential care and treatment facility
