Position SummaryThis role will report to a Principal or designated staff member within our Building Envelope division and will encompass a range of essential functions, including but not limited to:
- Comprehending the phases of exterior wall construction projects, such as shop drawings, modeling, design development, and construction documentation.
- Conducting field reviews and progress inspections on assigned projects.
- Documenting and maintaining clear and concise reports on project-related activities.
- Ensuring knowledge of local building codes.
- Advising the Project Manager on project status, scheduling, workload, and completion estimates.
- Effectively communicating and building relationships with clients and project management teams.
- Providing cross-functional support to meet client requirements and internal project timelines.
- Maintaining detailed documentation and tracking project progress from initial proposal to completion.
- Presenting technical information related to projects to clients and design teams.
- Occasionally presenting white papers or case studies to technical teams.
- Participating in in-house seminars and scheduled team meetings.
- Maintaining established utilization levels.
- Supporting junior technicians or entry-level staff.
- 1-3 years of experience in building envelope design, inspection, development, or engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical).
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of architectural design theories and structural concepts related to exterior wall construction.
- Experience with measurement devices.
- 10-hour OSHA certification is preferred.
- ICC certifications are preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in PC computer skills, including Microsoft Word or similar document writing software.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment, think creatively, and solve complex problems.
- Detail-oriented while maintaining a broader perspective.
