Certified Nursing Assistant

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on our 2 West Night Shift team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
Assist RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation, utilizing therapeutic assistive devices as needed.
Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, pulse rates, intake and output, and daily weights, as requested by RNs.
Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Perform purposeful rounding under the direction of RNs, promptly communicating patient observations, concerns, and needs to RNs.
Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision, including room setup, patient orientation, linen removal, and proper management of patient belongings.
Ensure patient call lights are always within reach and respond promptly to call lights.
Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing as indicated, following approved processes for accurate specimen labeling and identification.
Maintain competency as required and complete various errands as directed, including tray delivery, chart retrieval, and stock management.
Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and assistive devices, and complete tasks related to nutritional needs, skin integrity, and special patient supplies.
Work under the direction of RNs and adhere to site/unit requirements, performing tasks such as IV removal, post-mortem care, and bladder scans as needed.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and adhere to infection prevention policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days of hire.
Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry in which you practice.
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines and have functional vision and hearing.
Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids on a continuous basis; therefore, protective clothing must be worn as necessary.
