Job Description

Job Summary

Southern States Cooperative is seeking a skilled Energy Driver/Warehouse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our delivery and installation team, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial motor vehicles to deliver fuel products to customers, while adhering to government regulations and company operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial motor vehicles to deliver fuel products, including heating oil, kerosene, diesel, and gasoline, to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Install and maintain related equipment at customer sites, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel supply, deliveries, and customer interactions, using company-approved systems and tools.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to coordinate delivery schedules, installation, and service of fuel products and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance job performance and stay current on industry safety and operational standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (Class C or Class B) and Hazardous Materials Endorsement required.
  • Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle to deliver fuel products or maintaining related equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, follow safety procedures, and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Environment

This role requires continuous physical activity, including bending, crouching, and lifting, to perform essential job functions. The work environment may involve exposure to hazardous materials, noise levels, and extreme temperatures. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, with occasional extended hours and/or alternate work schedules required.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to:

  • Bend, crouch, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Drive motorized equipment and operate tools and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity to control tools and equipment.
  • Reach with arms and hands for extended periods.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
  • Pull, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
