Job Summary

This position involves working a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with shifts from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Nurse Navigator will play a crucial role in coordinating care for patients diagnosed with cancer who are undergoing stem cell transplant or cellular therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive coordination of patient services, ensuring effective education and support throughout the treatment process.
  • Oversee all aspects of patient care, including education, multidisciplinary referrals, data tracking, and treatment orders.
  • Utilize nursing expertise to facilitate informed decision-making and ensure timely access to quality care.
  • Direct pre-admission activities, including donor coordination, treatment orders, and necessary documentation.
  • Organize and schedule all required diagnostics prior to transplant.
  • Collaborate with financial specialists and insurance case managers to secure necessary authorizations and optimize reimbursement.
  • Maintain and update communication tools and databases to support compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance SCT operations.

Qualifications

Education:
Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience:
  • 2-5 years of oncology experience is preferred.
  • Experience in program management or case management is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is preferred.
  • A valid Registered Nurse license is required.
