Merchandise Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Planner to join our team at Petco. As a key member of our Merchandise Planning team, you will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies that drive sales growth, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Develop and maintain financial plans and forecasts for merchandise categories, including sales, margin, inventory, and turnover goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and risks, and develop innovative solutions to drive business growth.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, including trend analysis, market research, and competitive analysis.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Merchandise Business Unit Leads, Directors, and VPs.
• Lead monthly financial reviews with leadership and Merchandising partners, presenting forecasted sales, margin, receipt, inventory, and turnover metrics.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the pet industry and market trends.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
