Position Overview
The RNG Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing on-site operations and providing technical leadership for a renewable natural gas facility. Reporting to the Director of RNG Service Delivery, you will manage all operational aspects and personnel at the facility. Your role will also involve assisting in the final phases of biogas plant construction and startup, as well as ensuring the safe commissioning and operation of all production equipment. Additional duties will include enforcing safety protocols and production regulations, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting biogas operations in accordance with established procedures. As the Plant Manager, you will also be tasked with training and supervising technicians in plant operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the facility to meet production, financial, and safety objectives.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure adherence to design specifications, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance, including the interpretation of engineering drawings and recommendations for construction methodologies and equipment.
  • Establish and uphold stringent quality control measures.
  • Assist the Amp Americas team in formulating and implementing project procedures, management tools, and standards.
  • Review and contribute to the development of change order requests to ensure project quality.
  • Commission, test, and operate the facility post-construction to confirm successful completion of Operation Acceptance Tests (OATs).
  • Understand and comply with all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ensure accountability for safe operations, utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively engage in regular safety training.
  • Safely operate production systems and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor production efficiency through computerized systems and visual inspections of large equipment.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of plant operations, control systems, and the interdependencies of various processes.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of direct reports.
  • Delegate and review tasks assigned to plant operators, including quality checks and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address equipment and process issues.
  • Perform quality-control tests and maintain accurate logs as per established protocols.
  • Monitor and optimize production throughput by addressing problem areas.
  • Maintain detailed records of activities, operational anomalies, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Recommend improvements for production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations among plant operators.
  • Respond promptly to operational challenges and directives from management.
  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications
  • Associate degree, vocational technical diploma, or equivalent technical experience (required).
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in a process production environment or natural gas sector with a solid understanding of process flow.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills with proven troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with basic handheld instruments and basic computer skills for data entry and spreadsheet navigation.
  • Experience with CMMS systems is required; proficiency in Fiix is preferred.
  • 10+ years of gas compression experience.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing and operations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to utilize basic handheld instruments.
  • Capacity to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders up to 35 feet high.
  • Proficient in using basic hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, etc.).
  • Competent in performing basic maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing wear parts, adjusting equipment).
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights as necessary.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Willingness to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment.
