Unit Overview
The 9SE unit is a Level I trauma and post-operative medical-surgical department that focuses on musculoskeletal issues, including total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, fragility fractures, and complex trauma cases. Additionally, we provide specialized care for patients undergoing plastic and breast reconstruction surgeries. Our team operates in a collaborative environment, supported by various professionals such as case managers, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, advanced practice providers, and physicians. Staff members on this unit will gain valuable experience in managing patients with diverse co-morbidities, particularly those transitioning from recovery.

Responsibilities
The Nursing Assistant will deliver patient care in accordance with established care plans, unit protocols, and hospital policies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include:
- Safely transporting patients using wheelchairs or stretchers and ensuring proper documentation of services.
- Acting as an Observer for patients requiring constant monitoring, either in-person or through remote video systems, to enhance patient safety.
- Performing general clerical and receptionist duties to ensure the efficient operation of the nursing unit.
- Accurately documenting care provided in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
