Job Description
The Exercise Control Center Operator plays a vital role in supporting the Department of Energy's Office of Secure Transportation (OST). You will be responsible for performing routine clerical and administrative tasks, as well as providing basic security support to the facility. This includes receiving, compiling, archiving, and distributing information to key decision-makers on a wide range of topics, including training support requests, weather warnings, emergency services, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage training resource requirements, such as firing ranges and training areas.
- Monitor and log training information, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Operate and monitor section equipment, including radio and telephone communications, security camera systems, weather monitoring equipment, and alarm systems.
- Provide security operations support, monitoring access control points and personnel movements, and conducting continuous surveillance of security feeds, visitor control, and badge inventory.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced word processing using Microsoft Word, as well as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Willingness to work directly with customers in a dynamic environment.
Benefits
This part-time, adjunct position offers flexibility and opportunities for growth and development. After completing the initial 120 hours of training, adjunct staff will work as needed to fill in for full-time operators. When full-time positions become available, they are offered to the adjunct staff based on overall job performance.
