Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine landscaping and groundskeeping tasks, including mulching, aerating, weeding, and trimming.
  • Mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides as needed.
  • Operate power mowers, edgers, and other equipment to maintain lawns and grounds.
  • Plant seeds, bulbs, and other foliage, and apply mulch and pine needles for protection.
  • Ensure all flowering plants, ground-covering foliage, trees, and shrubs are pruned and manicured accordingly.
  • Remove weeds and debris from landscaped areas.
  • Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes.
  • Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage.
  • Water lawns, trees, and plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
  • Shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt as needed.
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs and maintain grounds and walks.
  • Participate in general cleaning and repair work.
  • Gather and dispose of trash and waste materials.
  • Replenish restroom supplies.
  • Maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds.
  • Perform preventive building maintenance duties.
  • Perform routine plumbing repairs, including unclogging toilets, sinks, and urinals, and fixing water leaks and leaking faucets.
  • Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
  • Perform routine electrical repairs, including changing light bulbs and fluorescent lamps, and assisting in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
  • Assemble and move furniture, hang pictures, and set up and tear down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms and function rooms.
  • Basic office systems knowledge, including computer systems and programs, cellular phones, and Microsoft Office suite.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to sit, and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
