The Henrico Education Foundation is seeking a dedicated educator to join our team as an Afterschool Instructional Teacher. This part-time position involves providing literacy and math instruction to elementary and middle school-age students in a group setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging academic activities, including homework support, academic stations, small group activities, and whole group games.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver program lesson plans that meet the individual needs of participants.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, on-site leadership, and co-teachers to ensure a smooth program operation.
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and exploration.
- Develop relationships with children and families to better understand and meet their needs.
Requirements:
- Meet the requirements of a Program Leader as detailed in the Virginia Regulations for Licensed Child Day Centers.
- Experience in facilitating instruction for school-aged students, preferably in an afterschool setting.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
