Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a skilled Maintenance Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our staff, clients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Custodial Duties: Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain organized and sanitary conditions in our facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing equipment, replacing light bulbs, and performing minor carpentry work.
  • Grounds Keeping: Maintain the exterior of our facilities, including lawn care, snow removal, and trash disposal.
  • Special Events: Assist with setup and teardown of special events, including room preparation and equipment setup.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Two years of custodial experience, with a focus on facilities maintenance and grounds keeping.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of safe handling of equipment, chemicals, and materials; ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally; and proficiency with PC, Microsoft Office, and databases.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Regular physical work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking, and standing.
