Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Culinary Expediter to become a vital part of our team at The Heights Pizzeria and Drafthouse. The Culinary Expediter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all food items are presented to our patrons promptly and in an organized fashion. This position is essential for maintaining the seamless operation between the kitchen and the dining area, ensuring that each dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize food orders from the kitchen, ensuring they are prepared and served in the correct order.
  • Examine dishes before they leave the kitchen to confirm they adhere to the restaurant's quality and presentation criteria.
  • Track the preparation timing of dishes to guarantee that all components of a meal are ready for service simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and organized food delivery.
  • Assist in managing the flow of service to prevent delays in food delivery or kitchen bottlenecks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the expediting station throughout the shift.
  • Prepare the expediting station before service and ensure it is cleaned and organized at the end of the shift.
  • Complete necessary side tasks, such as restocking supplies, during or at the beginning/end of shifts.
  • Address any service issues or delays promptly to ensure guests receive their orders without unnecessary wait.
  • Manage special requests or modifications to orders, ensuring clear communication with the kitchen staff.

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of experience in the hospitality/service industry, with prior experience as an expediter preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Capability to remain calm and organized under pressure.
  • Good physical stamina and endurance.
  • Able to stand for extended periods, up to 8-12 hours daily.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Compensation: Starting at $14 per hour

Expected Hours: 20-25 hours per week
