Position Overview:

This Licensed Practical Nurse role is situated within the Medicine Unit. Shift assignments will be coordinated by the department manager.

Career Progression:

As part of a Career Progression Group, positions may be filled from this recruitment as a Practical Nurse Licensed 1, 2, or 3, based on the experience level of the selected candidates.

Salary Structure:

- LPN 1: Starting Salary is $19.48/hour + Shift Differentials.
- LPN 2: Starting Salary is $20.84/hour + Shift Differentials.
- LPN 3: Starting Salary is $22.30/hour + Shift Differentials.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a valid Louisiana license or a temporary permit to practice practical nursing, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Responsibilities:

- Deliver basic nursing care to patients in stable conditions and predictable situations, adhering to the Professional Nurses Practice Act.
- Work under close supervision from a Registered Nurse or a higher-level Practical Nurse.
- May oversee paraprofessional nursing staff.

Key Duties Include:

1. Implementing aspects of the nursing care plan, including comfort, hygiene, and safety measures.
2. Monitoring patients for changes in status and reporting significant observations.
3. Collecting specimens for laboratory analysis as assigned.
4. Taking vital signs and administering medications as per established protocols.
5. Assisting physicians with routine examinations and treatments.
6. Providing comfort and care to patients, including bathing and feeding.
