As a Senior Electrical/Computer Engineer at Sierra Nevada Corporation, you will engage in the research, design, development, testing, certification, deployment, and enhancement of innovative products and services. This role is pivotal in advancing a diverse array of technologies, ranging from sophisticated mission payloads and electronic systems to integrated aircraft and space exploration systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the entire product life-cycle, including analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies and fully integrated systems.
- Contribute to the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area, recognized as a leader in ISR and aviation solutions.
- Deliver end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence capabilities, ensuring design, integration, testing, certification, and comprehensive logistics support.
- Tailor solutions to meet customer requirements regarding cost, performance, and schedule, consistently exceeding expectations with a strong record of timely and budget-conscious deliveries.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Engineering tools and experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with simulations, functional and logical models, and system analysis.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense sector.
- Proficiency in VHDL (FPGA experience), Xilinx/Vivado, and scripting languages such as Python and C++.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Knowledge of MATLAB and experience in hardware development from testing to production.
- Familiarity with version control systems like BitBucket/GIT.
- Competence in circuit modeling, analysis of electronic equipment, and understanding design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL).
- Knowledge of electrical design principles, including model-based definition and component selection.
- Understanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME), including compatibility and interference considerations.
- Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture, along with knowledge of printed circuit board layout processes.
- An active Secret U.S. security clearance is preferred.
