Job Summary

The Children's Home of Kingston is seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for running the daily functions of the HR department, including assisting with hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain personnel files for all staff, current and previous.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviews, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Verify background checks and employee eligibility verifications are current.
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required with one year experience
  • or 1-3 years' experience in similar role with HS Diploma/Equivalent
  • SHRM-CP a plus
  • At least 21 years of age
