Physical Therapist Job Description

Vertis Therapy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team in Peru, IN. As a Physical Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing patient-centered care and promoting independence, safety, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with physician orders, using therapeutic procedures to address deficits in physical function.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including achievable functional goals and home/vocational and equipment needs.
  • Conduct thorough functional assessments, documenting patient progress and revising treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide close supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants, instructing them in treatment procedures and orienting patients to program services and treatment procedures.
  • Work with nursing staff, patients, and families to maximize patient use of functional abilities and establish and instruct patients and families in exercises and therapeutic procedures to be continued following discharge.
Requirements:
  • Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy or Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and five years of direct practice experience.
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice.
  • Prefer minimum one (1) year experience in rehabilitation, supervision, training, and/or experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
  • Prefer membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
