The Department of Veterans Affairs is actively seeking a dedicated and board-certified/board-eligible Internal Medicine physician for a primary care role at the John Cochran VA Medical Center located in St. Louis, MO.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a primary care physician, you will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive primary care to a designated panel of patients.
- Fostering positive relationships to ensure efficient healthcare delivery, with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
- Prioritizing patient education and preventive care.
- Participating in inpatient coverage for approximately two months each year, typically in two-week intervals, including weekend rounds and night call duties.
- Supervising medical students and residents in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Managing chronic conditions and addressing intercurrent medical issues.
- Collaborating with a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) to deliver coordinated and continuous care.
- Conducting various disease prevention activities, including screenings and health promotion initiatives.
- Performing common outpatient procedures and preliminary interpretations of diagnostic tests.
Licensure: A full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. State or Territory is acceptable for practice at any VA Medical Center.
Office Hours: Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with specific duties as outlined above.
