The Job
We're seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our behavioral health center, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, visitors, and staff. This includes screening incoming clients and visitors, conducting physical security checks, and monitoring surveillance equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing exceptional customer service through direct and indirect interactions with clients, visitors, and staff
- Maintaining a high level of vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care and preserve safety
- Controlling access to the center and answering/directing incoming calls
- Conducting physical security checks of the center grounds and responding to fires and/or emergencies
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years' experience in a relevant field OR
- An AA degree in a related mental health field and one (1) year experience in a relevant field
- Relevant experience refers to experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and/or adults in an inpatient or outpatient setting, hospital setting, or setting where safety and security were the primary focus
- Valid California Driver's License and clear DMV printout preferred
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Valid Security Guard Registration with California BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services) OR commitment to register as a Security Guard with California BSIS within 90 days of employment required
