About Uncommon SchoolsWe are a nonprofit network of high-performing public charter schools with 52 schools serving over 20,000 students in five cities: Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, and Rochester. Our graduates persist in and graduate from college at five times the national average, thanks to our strong academic, co-curricular, and social-emotional learning programs.
In Brooklyn, we manage 24 schools serving students in grades K-12, with a 99% college acceptance rate. Our teachers become experts in their content areas, developing students who are global citizens.
Job DescriptionAs a High School Spanish Language Educator, you will:
- Teach bilingual skills and enhance students' understanding of the Spanish language using a curriculum that prepares them for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate level coursework.
- Help students gain confidence in navigating print and audio authentic sources.
- Cultivate students' cultural awareness by helping them learn a new language.
- Share your passion for the Spanish language to build a community of students who are confident in speaking Spanish.
- Work with the Spanish department to develop academic and engagement goals for students.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Data Analysis: Meet weekly with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments.
School Culture: Build positive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen, loved, and heard. Partner with students' families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs.

The starting salary for this role is between $56,000 to $83,000, depending on relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Benefits include:
