About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Twin Cities Orthopedics. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing quality support to production departments, addressing and resolving quality issues through effective problem-solving tools and techniques.

The primary focus of this position will be on die cast quality issues, but you will also provide similar support to CNC and subcontract/supplier quality issues.


Responsibilities
  • Lead problem-solving teams to address customer complaints and internal quality issues.
  • Manage internal and external corrective actions and preventive actions using databases and/or customer-specific formats.
  • Utilize problem-solving tools to improve die cast process performance and reduce scrap.
  • Maintain, update, and train employees on manufacturing quality plans, including inspection and control plans, as well as operator work instructions.
  • Disposition suspect product and materials according to customer requirements and knowledge of product end use.
  • Analyze and interpret prints, data, manuals, and other materials to understand product requirements.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Train employees on gaging, customer requirements, and quality plans and operator work instructions.
  • Issue and track RMA's.
  • Communicate quality issues with suppliers and subcontractors and work with them to resolve performance issues.
  • Travel to suppliers and subcontractors as needed or required.
  • Provide leadership in establishing a quality culture and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Provide guidance in interpreting ISO/TS 16949 standards and internal policies to ensure compliance and serve as an internal auditor as assigned.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality relating to sensitive business, financial, and personnel issues.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for the work area and taking responsibility to ensure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way as not to affect the safety of themselves or others.
