Job Title: Press Production Supervisor

Join KLM Careers as a Press Production Supervisor and take on a challenging role in our metal stamping department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating daily activities to meet production requirements and ensuring the success of your team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, policies, and company standards.
  • Emphasize the importance of continuous improvement and empower team members to contribute to a culture of excellence.
  • Demonstrate respectful treatment of all team members in every interaction and decision.
  • Work to eliminate waste and develop team member skills to improve efficiencies within the organization.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S within the press department.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to provide support.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives to support operating metrics.
  • Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.
  • Collaborate with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues.
  • Organize, monitor, and prioritize tasks to meet daily production goals.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations is preferred.
  • Previous professional internship or coop experience will be considered as relevant experience.
  • Experience within a high-speed metal stamping operation, including progressive dies, transfer presses, and manual press operations, is preferred.
  • Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring, and supervision within a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.
  • Solid understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Stooping, bending, standing for long periods, manual dexterity, and able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations is preferred.
  • 13 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Previous professional internship or coop experience.
  • Experience within a high-speed metal stamping operation, including progressive dies, transfer presses, and manual press operations.
  • Experience and ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Do you have a Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations?
  • Do you have 13 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment?
  • Do you have previous professional internship or coop experience?
  • Do you have experience within a high-speed metal stamping operation, including progressive dies, transfer presses, and manual press operations?
  • Do you have experience and ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset?
  • Do you have a solid understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing?
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
