We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Tenet Massachusetts.

About the Role:

This is a part-time position, approximately 24 hours per week, working an 8-hour day shift. The Mental Health Specialist will provide psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients by planning and implementing milieu treatment, considering patient needs and therapeutic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field and be bilingual (Spanish/English). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Charge Nurse to determine a milieu treatment approach and participate in milieu therapy for patients on an individual or group basis.
  • Assess and evaluate patient mental status, initiate and maintain a therapeutic relationship, and collaborate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Provide supportive care to patients, such as participating in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities.
  • Record all appropriate information on patient charts and prepare regular reports describing each patient's mental status and functioning.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a patient care environment with occasional risk from combative or abusive patients. Regular walking and standing during normal course of duties are also expected.
