Key Responsibilities:
  • Design complex electrical-electronic facilities and installations
  • Review designs of others
  • Estimate costs and perform cost analyses
  • Assign and direct the work of others
  • Provide technical supervision or advice to engineering staff, consultants, and inspectors
  • Write technical reports and correspondence
Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an electrical engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
  • Driver's License: A valid California Driver License, Class C or higher, is required prior to appointment to this class
  • Certificates/licenses: Per Health and Safety Code, Sections, incumbents may be required to obtain a certification from a recognized state, national, or international association, as determined by the County, within two years of date of hire or assignment
Working Conditions:
  • Frequent: Working in excess of 40 hours a week
  • Occasional: Working irregular hours, particularly during emergency situations
