Position Overview: The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patients, healthcare providers, and nursing staff in fulfilling the mission and vision of Community Health Programs Inc. The successful applicant will possess a friendly demeanor and may be required to travel to various locations within the service area. Weekend availability may be necessary. This position fosters a collaborative, compassionate, and innovative work environment. The Certified Medical Assistant will uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values while adhering to compliance protocols and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and guide patients to examination rooms; prepare them for consultations; accurately measure and document vital signs; assist healthcare providers in patient assessments and procedures as needed; provide direction to patients post-visit.
- Administer EKGs for selected patients; prepare lab requests and ensure correct labeling and documentation of specimens; deliver specimens to designated areas; retrieve lab results and imaging reports; maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms.
- Administer vaccinations (if certified) and maintain professional certification/registration.
- Update service profiles to accommodate provider schedules; manage incoming calls and relay messages; perform clerical tasks as requested; communicate with external agencies as directed by healthcare providers.
- Respond to patient inquiries promptly; pre-register patients during appointment scheduling; ensure accurate triage of patient information; facilitate follow-up appointments as needed; cross-train for additional support roles.
- Review clinical protocols and competencies annually with supervising personnel; maintain CPR certification.

- Dependable and punctual; maintain commitment to scheduled responsibilities.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are advantageous.
Qualifications: To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program.
- Experience in a medical office setting and familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant in Massachusetts is mandatory.
