About the Opportunity

The Director - Respiratory Care (RRT) will provide clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for the Respiratory Care department. Key responsibilities include liaising with other departments to maintain communication and drive quality improvement initiatives, representing the Respiratory Department in meetings and various internal and external activities, and ensuring respiratory therapists maintain high standards of clinical education and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance respiratory care services.
  • Liaise with other departments to maintain effective communication and collaboration.
  • Represent the Respiratory Department in meetings and external activities.
  • Ensure respiratory therapists maintain high standards of clinical education and skills.
  • Manage staff, budgets, and overall departmental performance effectively.
  • Collaborate with physician, nursing, and administrative leaders to set goals and develop strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Current, unrestricted NYS Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from AHA.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Experience and/or certification in one or more specialty areas of Respiratory Therapy, such as critical care or pulmonary function testing.
