Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Newton Public Schools. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will provide essential services to students with communication disorders, including evaluation, direct services, and consultation to staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, and pragmatic language skills to students with varying and complex needs.
  • Assess students using formal and informal test measures to inform IEP development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other special education staff to develop and implement curriculum accommodations and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with best practices and innovative techniques for students with communication disorders.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • DESE License of Speech Language and Hearing Disorders (All Levels).
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist, preferably in a school setting.
Work Environment

The majority of work will be performed in a school environment, with occasional travel between school locations.
