Position Summary:
As a seasoned Transportation Engineer at Houston Engineering, you will spearhead a team of professionals dedicated to planning and designing safe, efficient roadway systems for communities across the Midwest. Your role will encompass managing a diverse array of transportation projects, ensuring successful delivery from the environmental phase through to construction, while adhering to Federal, State, and Local specifications. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in expanding and enhancing our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Prepare or supervise comprehensive engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports, and more.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with project teams, including CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
  • Foster a project team culture centered on exceptional customer service.
  • Engage in client interactions and communications.

Project Scope:
Your projects will vary widely, encompassing areas such as traffic planning, roadway and railway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and environmental clearance coordination. You may also work on federal, state, county, and municipal roadway projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • State Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain one within six months.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with state Department of Transportation and county highway projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Geopak is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
