Position Overview

As a vital member of the culinary team at Metropolitan Healthcare Services Inc., you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality meal services. Your expertise in food preparation and adherence to safety standards will ensure that our clients receive nutritious and appealing meals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and culinary equipment.
  • Prepare and cook main dishes daily, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Organize and manage prep lists for daily food production, including setting up the steam table.
  • Oversee staff compliance with food production, safety, and sanitation protocols.
  • Communicate any employee concerns or issues to the management team.
  • Produce food items as specified in production records or as directed.
  • Assist with phone inquiries and manage call-down items efficiently.
  • Follow established procedures for meal service, food production records, and sanitation practices.
  • Rotate and organize all coolers and freezers daily to maintain inventory freshness.
  • Support the management team with receiving and organizing food orders.
  • Prepare and set up carts for the following day's meal preparation.
  • Adhere to all state, county, and federal food safety regulations regarding food production and storage.
  • Maintain accurate time and temperature records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Utilize proper techniques to ensure cost control and minimize waste.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks and end-of-shift responsibilities.
  • Assist with various projects, special events, and daily operations as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols for the use and disposal of cleaning chemicals according to their Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Remain adaptable and ready to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • Proficient in large-scale food preparation methods and presentation.
  • Two to three years of experience in food production.
