Position Overview

The individual in this role will report directly to the Supervisor of Sterilization and will be tasked with the upkeep of the sterilization area and all instruments requiring reprocessing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, package, and sterilize dental instruments and materials while operating sterilization equipment in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collect contaminated instruments and ensure the timely delivery of sanitized instruments.
  • Maintain the sterilization area in an orderly manner, adhering to institutional policies.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
  • Strictly follow safety, sterilization, handling, and technical regulations.
  • Engage in other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of two years of college or a secretarial program, along with a minimum of one to two years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of a sterile processing training program with certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or possession of a NYS Dental Assistant certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
