Job Overview

Zandras Taqueria is a reputable Mexican restaurant in Northern Virginia, known for its handcrafted gourmet tacos made with fresh local ingredients. We are seeking an experienced Head Cook to join our team and contribute to our success.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong work ethic. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cooking Tacos and Other Dishes: Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including tacos, meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products.
  • Food Preparation: Portion food products according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications, and prepare garnishes for all hot menu item plates.
  • Maintaining Kitchen Standards: Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area, and adhere to kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Assisting Team Members: Assist other kitchen staff during off-peak periods as needed, and close the kitchen properly at the end of each shift.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be at Least 21 Years Old.
  • Hold Relevant Cooking Experience, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Be Able to Lift Heavy Objects, up to 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Work Well Under Pressure, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrate Strong Leadership and Communication Skills, and be able to work effectively with a team.
