Job Summary

SPI Lighting is a leading designer and manufacturer of American-made architectural and performance luminaires. We are seeking an experienced welder to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality metal parts manufactured to specific dimensions per work orders and prints.
  • Function as a welder 90% of the time, producing quality welded parts that meet required specifications.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including machines and tools used in welding, including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
  • Measure and inspect parts using calipers and micrometers, and review job specification documents, such as blueprints and fabrication documents.
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork, and keep parts organized.
Requirements
  • Understanding of machines and tools used in welding, including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
  • Attention to detail, including ability to keep paperwork and parts together and organized.
  • Willingness to cross-train on duties within the Fabrication Department.
  • A good work history is a must.
  • Experience that demonstrates accuracy, careful handling, and attention to detail.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
Preferred Experience
  • Mig/Tig welding experience.
  • Aluminum welding experience.
  • Experience with light gauge materials.
  • Experience monitoring inventory of on-hand materials.
Physical Requirements
  • Reach, bend, twist, climb, balance, and use hands and fingers.
  • May stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
