Veterans Healthcare Examiner

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
In this role, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and conduct focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran. You will document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant does not make disability determinations; rather, the United States Veterans Administration makes all decisions. This position solely performs Disability Assessments on Veterans and does not involve treating or prescribing medication. Additionally, you will work with 3-5 patients per day, providing Independent Medical Assessments.
About the Role
This is a full-time position (8am-4pm) that requires an IN-PERSON presence. Key attributes for success include interest in performing Independent Medical Assessments, ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings, time management skills, and proficiency in using a computer. We require a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license. Benefits include training and continued support, health insurance options, and a computer provided.
Benefits and Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a clinical setting and be proficient in using technology. You must meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA and hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license. A typical day consists of working with 3 to 5 patients. Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience.
