PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our team.

As an Electrical Engineer II at PacifiCorp, you will be responsible for developing moderately complex electrical engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments. You will also guide and direct associate level engineers, technicians, and drafters, and recommend alternative solutions to management in the area of specialty on engineering solutions to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing electrical engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
  • Determining methods and techniques for obtaining results.
  • Guiding and directing associate level engineers, technicians, and drafters.
  • Recommending alternative solutions to management in the area of specialty on engineering solutions to meet business needs.
  • Delivering on commitments and managing outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work.
  • Analyzing and designing engineering methods.
  • Managing major spare equipment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • A minimum of two or more years of directly related experience in the applicable engineering field.
  • Knowledge and application of principles in the area of engineering specialty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
  • Understanding of PacifiCorp's business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations, and the National Electric Codes (if required for the position).
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
  • Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools.

Preferences:
Engineering experience specific to industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
