Overview:
As a Breast Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating advanced mammography equipment to capture high-quality images of breast tissue for diagnostic evaluation, under the supervision of a qualified physician. This role requires a solid understanding of human anatomy, excellent communication abilities, and strong customer service skills. You will report directly to the Unit Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by escorting them to the examination room.
- Clearly explain the mammography process and assist in positioning patients correctly within the mammography unit.
- Review physician orders for mammography and ensure proper patient identification in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Collect comprehensive patient histories and document relevant findings.
- Adhere to clean technique standards throughout all procedures.
- Operate mammography and tomosynthesis machines with precision.
- Conduct quality assurance assessments to ensure optimal imaging performance.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of mammography images produced.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Mammography Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Mammography Technician in a clinical environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
