Position Overview

Global Medical Response (GMR) is excited to announce an opportunity for active-duty military personnel through our Military EMT Fellowship Program. This initiative is designed to provide Service Members with essential civilian experience in the medical response sector via hands-on training and internships.

Program Details

As part of the Military Fellowship, GMR welcomes active-duty U.S. Military members for specialized employment training during the last six months of their service commitment. The fellowship spans a duration of 90 days.

Role Responsibilities

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will be tasked with responding to both emergency and non-emergency medical requests, ensuring high-quality care and exceptional service to all patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of patients to determine the necessary medical care and delivering emergency services using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Documenting patient information, conditions, and treatments while upholding confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-equipped environment for patient care.
  • Utilizing EMT skills effectively, including communication, medical equipment handling, and adherence to cleaning protocols.
  • Operating an ambulance in compliance with safety policies and traffic regulations related to emergency medical response.
  • Collaborating professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow EMTs.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Engaging in community outreach programs to enhance the organization's image and foster strong community relations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Active-Duty Service Member.
  • Meets the qualifications set forth by the Department of Defense SkillBridge program.
  • Availability for a 90-day participation period.
  • Approval from your unit commander, with the understanding that participation may be terminated by the Service if mission requirements necessitate.
  • Ability to work remotely within the continental United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • State EMT License (as applicable).
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Current BLS and NREMT certifications.
  • Driving record that complies with company policy.
  • Successful completion of the Physical Agility Test.
  • Some prior work experience, preferably in healthcare.
