Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room, preparing the environment, promoting patient safety, and assisting the surgeon during procedures. We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery, including heart and lung transplant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scrubbing and be able to work effectively in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available
* Promote patient safety and well-being during surgery
* Assist the surgeon during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and supplies with care
* Care for patients of all age groups, from neonate to geriatric
* Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient operations

Requirements:

* 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience
* Permanent address outside 50-mile radius of Madison
* Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital
* Strong cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience, including heart and lung
* BLS certification through American Heart Association
* Completion of a surgical technologist program or 2 years' experience in Surgical Technologist role
