**Job Overview**

The Department of the Navy invites applications for a Director of Operations and Security position. As a key member of the Operations Directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of airspace, air traffic control, and aviation targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate, establish, and coordinate air station's operational specific requirements with functional directorates
  • Provide a full range of airfield and airfield support services to include flight clearance, air traffic control, crash/fire rescue, aircraft/launch recovery, weather, visiting aircraft line services, and explosive ordnance disposal
  • Ensure strict adherence and compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration, DoD, DoN, and Marine Corps regulations concerning the management of National Airspace, special use airspace, navigational equipment, and airfield facilities

Education:

  • No education qualification requirement

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
  • Demonstrated experience in airfield support, event planning, and risk management assessments
