Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical/Trauma Units at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide expert patient care, coordinate care plans, and collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver family-centered care guided by CHOP's Nursing Professional Practice Model.
  • Develop, evaluate, and revise patients' plans of care throughout their hospitalization.
  • Gather and analyze data to inform the care team and delegate tasks.
  • Promote excellent patient outcomes by adhering to evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
  • Identify and address safety concerns or ethical dilemmas with unit leadership.
  • Develop effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Adept healthcare technology and clinical practice changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain CEUs for nursing licensure and comply with annual nursing competencies and mandatory education.
Requirements
  • At least one (1) year RN experience.
  • Prior experience in pediatrics or area of specialty preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Use of patient-facing technology (IV pumps, point-of-care devices, CR monitors).
  • Ability to gather and assess clinical information using appropriate healthcare technology.
About the Unit

Our Surgical/Trauma Units are 24-bed units, comprised of seven different surgical services. We provide comprehensive care to a variety of medically complex children with ages ranging from infant to adolescent. Common diagnoses/surgical procedures include appendectomies, posterior spinal fusions, hernia repairs, and complex urologic procedures.
