The Speech and Language Pathologist role at Burnham Elementary School is a critical position that requires a dedicated professional to support the communication development of students.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program, a valid state license, and certification in speech-language pathology. Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting is highly desirable.
The Speech Pathologist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders. This includes utilizing standardized tests, observational techniques, and other assessment tools to diagnose and document the nature and extent of impairments.
Based on the assessment results, the Speech Pathologist will develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address articulation, fluency, voice, language, and social communication deficits. The role also involves providing direct therapy to students individually or in small groups, using evidence-based practices to ensure effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy to students individually or in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state license and/or certification in speech-language pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The salary range is based on industry standards for similar positions in the region.
