Position Summary

The Engineering Administrative Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring they are welcomed and directed appropriately. This role is essential in managing administrative functions across various engineering operations, facilitating communication between the fleet, tug operations, and other departments within the organization.

Key Collaborations

Interactions will primarily involve G&H personnel, executive leadership, senior client representatives, mariners, industry organizations, and external vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an advanced degree is preferred, with extensive experience considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Experience in drafting, writing, and compiling reports.
  • Familiarity with the tug maritime industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of digital reporting and engineering analysis software.
  • Understanding of technical software and planned maintenance systems.
  • Awareness of maritime insurance and vendor relations.
  • Experience in a maritime environment, including safety protocols and emergency plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • A transportation worker identification credential (TWIC) is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Work Environment

  • Standard work hours are typically Monday through Friday, with potential for irregular hours as needed.
  • Travel may be required for training or work-related events.
  • Work will be conducted in both office and field settings.

Special Projects

  • Assist management with special projects as requested, ensuring timely completion.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
