Dishroom Attendant

Job Title: Dishroom Attendant Job Summary: As a key member of the Butter Churn Restaurant team, the Dishroom Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This includes washing and sanitizing tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, as well as monitoring dishwasher water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle. Responsibilities: • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using a dishwasher or by hand • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dishroom and surrounding areas • Monitor and report any functional or mechanical problems with the dishwasher to the Kitchen Manager • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas • Sweep or scrub floors as needed • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars • Clean food preparation and production areas as required • Receive and store supplies • Clean garbage cans with water or steam • Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations Requirements: • Ability to work in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours) • Ability to lift, reach, bend, and stoop • Ability to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift Work Environment: The Dishroom Attendant will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
