Truck Maintenance Specialist

SUMMARY:
This is an experienced technician position that requires little supervision to diagnose and repair various vehicle components efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform work outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose the cause of most malfunctions and perform repairs.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keep the shop area neat and clean.
- Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CDE certified is required.
- Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WE OFFER A COMPETITIVE SALARY OF $60,000 TO $90,000 BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS. THE EXPECTED GROSS ANNUAL SALARY IS IN LINE WITH OTHER SIMILAR ROLES IN THE AREA.
