Job Title: Local Truck Driver

Alsum Transport, Inc., a subsidiary of Alsum Farms & Produce, Inc., is seeking a full-time Local Truck Driver to join our team. As a Local Truck Driver, you will be responsible for driving a semi-tractor and trailer to deliver fresh produce to customers within a 300-mile radius of Friesland, WI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport product locally, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
  • Load and unload produce onto the vehicle, using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks, as needed.
  • Plan the most efficient route for deliveries, taking into account traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct daily routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel compensation, and other relevant information.
  • Interact with customers and clients in a professional and courteous manner during deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and other governing bodies.
  • Prioritize safety at all times, both for oneself and for others on the road.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of tractor/trailer driving experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Valid state Class A Commercial Driver's License with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and be registered with the Drug Clearing House.
