Utility Worker

We are seeking a skilled Utility Worker to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As a Utility Worker, you will assist pipefitters with various tasks, follow construction plans and instructions, and ensure the safe operation of equipment and tools.

• Assist pipefitters with a variety of basic tasks, including cutting and drilling holes in walls, selecting and mounting pipe hangers and brackets, and assisting with the installation of valves and fittings.
• Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers to ensure the safe and efficient completion of tasks.
• Properly identify, use, and care for hand power tools, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform a variety of duties that may often change, including working at varying heights, reading and interpreting detail prints and documents, and assembling and disassembling objects.
• Work in extreme weather conditions, including hot, humid, and cold temperatures, and in wet, muddy, and slippery conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions, read and carry out simple and complicated written instructions, and work at varying heights.
• Physical ability to work in cramped quarters, confined spaces, and in areas with noise levels above 89 decibels.

This is a full-time position with no travel required. The primary location is US-TX-Oakville, and the schedule is standard business hours.
